Neuro-Ocular Release (NOR) is an advanced, indirect Osteopathic manipulative procedure, that puts into play the ocular nervous system and it’s related CNS &PNS as described to deactivate entrainment, central facilitation (sensitization) and local somatic dysfunction for both active and latent tender points. By utilizing the neuro-ocular system in the manner described; the inhibition of the presynaptic primary afferents and postsynaptic inhibition at the spinal projections modulate pain and diminish SD. The Neuro-Ocular Release (NOR) is less time consuming provides a more complete treatment of SD, specifically, NOR functionally removes the spinal cord memory of SD, particularly important in recurrent neuromusculoskeletal pain.

OBJECTIVES

1. To know, perceive and describe what pain is.

2. To describe how pain is transmitted and modulated.

3. To recognize and describe the 3 types of pain.

4. To describe what NOR is and to experience it is effect upon oneself.

5. To describe in detail how NOR works.

6. To Identify in lab NOR Tenderpoints (TP).

7. To be able to perform in lab NOR treatment in at least 4 of the 10 body regions taught.
